Hardman CentreThe Hardman Centre was opened in 1974 by Tom Ward and Ben Hardman who had the foresight to approach the Methodist Church in Low Fell, to use one of their Church premises.
They asked permission to use the recently closed Joicey Road Methodist Church on Dryden Road in Low Fell, as a day centre to create a facility for older people to access practical services and address isolation in the Gateshead community, with the addition of a pre-school for local children. |
From the time of opening, the centre has been a Registered Charity (No. 1144252) and, since November 2011 has become a Limited Company.
